Claims Officer - Non-motor

What is offered


This position is responsible for analysing, vetting and processing claims to the satisfaction of clients in accordance with policy terms and conditions.


  • Processing claims which includes making follow ups on claims documentation, service providers, reports, payments and checking premium status;
  • Investigating potentially fraudulent claims in liaison with the appointed service providers handling the claim;
  • Building relationships with loss adjusters, forensic accountants and solicitors as well as legal claims professionals;
  • Continually updating and reviewing of reserves;
  • Settling claims which includes preparation and issuance of discharge vouchers, issuing release letters and making payments;
  • Proposing risk improvement recommendations to BDD;
  • Reviewing reserves and preparing claims reports;
  • Reducing cost through discount negotiation;
  • Appointing service providers including motor assessors, doctors, loss adjustors;
  • Coordinating salvage disposal process liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to maximize shareholder’s value;
  • Debiting of salvage payments and liaising with finance department for receipting;
  • Responsible for motor vehicle’s original documents received from clients and safe keeping in the safe.
  • Participating in company CSR and brand building activities in liaison with other departments.
  • Adhering to legal requirements, industry regulations and customer quality standards set by the company.



Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/business or an equivalent.

Professional Qualifications

  • Diploma in Insurance
  • Diploma /Certificate in Electronics will be an added advantage


  • At least 3 years relevant experience
