David K. Ronoh

Mr. Ronoh is a distinguished leader with an exceptional career spanning over three decades in the insurance and financial sectors .He is recognized for his strategic vision, transformational leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence. His expertise in navigating complex challenges, fostering innovation, and driving sustainable growth has positioned him as a catalyst for positive change within the industry.

Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Ronoh has demonstrated a remarkable ability to execute innovative solutions, champion leadership development, and promote financial inclusion. His unwavering dedication to advancing the insurance sector and prioritizing social responsibility underscores his status as a forward-thinking industry leader.

Mr. Ronoh has held various influential leadership roles, including serving as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Pioneer Group, Managing Director of CIC Life Assurance Limited and Pioneer Assurance Company Limited. He currently serves on the Boards of Pioneer Life Assurance, Pioneer General Insurance, Kapsorok High School, and as the Chairman of Chepsir High School. He is also a former Board Member of the Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI), where he served on the Life Insurance Council and General Insurance Council. Additionally, he a member of the Insurance Institute of Kenya (IIK) and the Institute of Directors Kenya (IoD).

Mr. Ronoh holds a Bachelor of Education (Science) degree from Kenyatta University, a Master of Science degree from the University of Nairobi, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Actuarial Science from the University of Nairobi. Further enhancing his leadership acumen, he is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program from Strathmore Business School, Lagos Business School, and IESE Business School in Spain.

MANAGING DIRECTOR PIONEER GENERAL

Milcah Kinyua

Milcah Kinyua is the founder Managing Director of Pioneer General Insurance Limited since its inception in 2017. An industry veteran, Milcah’s nearly 26 years career in the industry has earned her a great wealth of experience. She led teams in the underwriting and claims departments of ICEA Lion and CIC Insurance Company, and later served as Managing Director of CIC Insurance Uganda in charge of both General and Life Divisions. She has also previously held the position of General Manager Operations at UAP Old mutual.

Milcah is a diligent and results-oriented leader with a proven track record in developing and overseeing the implementation of Company’s business strategy, and a great passion for customer service.

Her academic and leadership qualifications match her experience, having successfully qualified for the Advanced Management Leadership Program (Strathmore Insurance) and Corporate Governance (Center for Corporate Governance in Kenya). She holds a Master of Business Administration Degree (KU) in Entrepreneurship with a Research paper on A SURVEY TO ESTABLISH ACCESSIBILITY OF INSURANCE SERVICES TO SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES IN NAIROBI CBD. Her Graduate degree is a Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University. She is also an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute London (ACII)

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER & CHIEF ACTUARY

Emmanuel Opakasi

Emmanuel Opakasi is the Chief Operating Officer & Chief Actuary. Before Joining Pioneer Insurance in 2015, He had worked for Insurance regulatory Authority and Alexander Forbes (Now Zamara). He is an Actuary with areas of expertise including a wide range of business and actuarial skills in Life Insurance, General Insurance and retirement benefits; Risk Management and Finance and investments. He also holds a Master’s degree in Actuarial management from Cass Business School (UK) and a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from JKUAT.

CFO & GM FINANCE AND STRATEGY

Cyprian Ombogo

Cyprian has over 21 years of experience in Business advisory, Audit, Finance and Accounting 17 of which have been in senior management roles. He holds a B.A(Economics) degree from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He completed the Senior Management Leadership Program (SMLP) from Strathmore Business School (Nairobi) & Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and is currently pursuing MBA (Strategic Management) from the University of Nairobi.

GM MARKETING & CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

Timothy Mutua

Timothy holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Marketing Option), from the Kenyatta University and is an Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute of London (ACII) and the Insurance Institute of Kenya (IIK). He is a Chartered Insurer and a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI). He also successfully completed the Senior Management Leadership Program (SMLP) from Strathmore Business School (Nairobi) & Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). He is currently pursuing MBA (Strategic Management) from the University of Nairobi.

He has over 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry in different capacities from customer service, underwriting and claims management. He joined the company in 2007.

CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

Robert Ipomai

Robert Ipomai is a multi-faceted and experienced ICT professional with over fourteen years’ experience; ten of which have been at senior management level. He holds a Master of Science degree in Information Technology Management (University of Nairobi) and a BSc in Computer Science degree (University of Nairobi). He has successfully completed the Senior Management Leadership Program (SMLP) from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore & Strathmore Business School. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).

Simon Wamenju

Simon Wamenju is a transformational leader overseeing retail business in sales and marketing. He has over 18 years of experience in banking and insurance having previously worked for Equity bank and CIC. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the university of Nairobi and a Diploma in insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)-London. Simon is also a trained accountant

Margaret Mwashimba

Margaret Mwashimba is a Relational leader heading the Group Human Resource and Administration functions. She holds a BSC in International Business Administration with greater focus on management, and a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership. She is a qualified Human Resources Development professional with a wealth of over 15 years’ experience and professional exposure. She is committed to delivery of service excellence by ensuring all people are fully engaged, and the right people are recruited and retained for the right jobs.

Anthony Kinyua

Anthony is a Certified Public Accountant with over 10 years experience in Auditing and tax advisory. Over the years, my experience has been demonstrated by delivering quality audit engagements for large and complex clients, especially, Insurances, Banks, Saccos, Financial Services and Consumer Industry Markets. He is an MBA and BCOM graduate.
