David K Ronoh

David is a seasoned professional within the insurance circles with experience that spans over 30years. He has a mixture of the academia and business, with special focus in actuarial, life insurance and pension. He has contributed significantly to the development of the Kenyan insurance industry. His area of expertise includes change & strategic management, execution & leadership development. He holds Bachelor of Education (science) from Kenyatta University, Masters of Science (Statistics) from University of Nairobi, Postgraduate Diploma in Actuarial Science from University of Nairobi and Advanced Management program from Strathmore Business School/Lagos Business School/IESE Business School.He is a member of Insurance Institute of Kenya (IIK), a member of Institute of Directors Kenya (IoD), a member of Life Insurance Council of the Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI), Board Member of the Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI), Council member of Moi University and Board Member of Chepsir Boys High School.

Milcah Kinyua

Milcah Kinyua is the founder Managing Director of Pioneer General Insurance Limited since its inception in 2017. An industry veteran, Milcah’s nearly 26 years career in the industry has earned her a great wealth of experience. She led teams in the underwriting and claims departments of ICEA Lion and CIC Insurance Company, and later served as Managing Director of CIC Insurance Uganda in charge of both General and Life Divisions. She has also previously held the position of General Manager Operations at UAP Old mutual.

Milcah is a diligent and results-oriented leader with a proven track record in developing and overseeing the implementation of Company’s business strategy, and a great passion for customer service.

Her academic and leadership qualifications match her experience, having successfully qualified for the Advanced Management Leadership Program (Strathmore Insurance) and Corporate Governance (Center for Corporate Governance in Kenya). She holds a Master of Business Administration Degree (KU) in Entrepreneurship with a Research paper on A SURVEY TO ESTABLISH ACCESSIBILITY OF INSURANCE SERVICES TO SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES IN NAIROBI CBD. Her Graduate degree is a Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University. She is also an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute London (ACII)

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER & CHIEF ACTUARY

Emmanuel Opakasi

Emmanuel Opakasi is the Chief Operating Officer & Chief Actuary. Before Joining Pioneer Insurance in 2015, He had worked for Insurance regulatory Authority and Alexander Forbes (Now Zamara). He is an Actuary with areas of expertise including a wide range of business and actuarial skills in Life Insurance, General Insurance and retirement benefits; Risk Management and Finance and investments. He also holds a Master’s degree in Actuarial management from Cass Business School (UK) and a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from JKUAT.

CFO & GM FINANCE AND STRATEGY

Cyprian Ombogo

Cyprian has over 21 years of experience in Business advisory, Audit, Finance and Accounting 17 of which have been in senior management roles. He holds a B.A(Economics) degree from the University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He completed the Senior Management Leadership Program (SMLP) from Strathmore Business School (Nairobi) & Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and is currently pursuing MBA (Strategic Management) from the University of Nairobi.

Timothy Mutua

Timothy holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Marketing Option), from the Kenyatta University and is an Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute of London (ACII) and the Insurance Institute of Kenya (IIK). He is a Chartered Insurer and a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI). He also successfully completed the Senior Management Leadership Program (SMLP) from Strathmore Business School (Nairobi) & Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). He is currently pursuing MBA (Strategic Management) from the University of Nairobi.

He has over 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry in different capacities from customer service, underwriting and claims management. He joined the company in 2007.

Anne Muhindi

Anne is an Insurance professional, Passionate about exceptional service and a firm believer in upholding high standards in business. Her 20 years’ expertise, qualifies her to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds and groups to develop cohesive programs in achieving common goals.

She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in strategic management and a Bachelor of Education degree (B Ed). She is also an Associate of the Insurance Institute of Kenya (AIIK) and is currently pursuing the Senior Management Leadership Program (SMLP) from Strathmore Business School.

CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

Robert Ipomai

Robert Ipomai is a multi-faceted and experienced ICT professional with over fourteen years’ experience; ten of which have been at senior management level. He holds a Master of Science degree in Information Technology Management (University of Nairobi) and a BSc in Computer Science degree (University of Nairobi). He has successfully completed the Senior Management Leadership Program (SMLP) from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore & Strathmore Business School. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).

Lydia Chege

Lydia Chege is the Head of Internal Audit responsible for overseeing the internal audit function. She is an accomplished professional with over nine years’ experience and a demonstrable commitment to the ethos of professional excellence and good corporate governance. Her experience spans both internal and external audit, having previously worked as an external auditor at KPMG. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Strategic Management (University of Nairobi) and a BSc. Actuarial Science degree (University of Nairobi). She is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K).

Simon Wamenju

Simon Wamenju is a transformational leader overseeing retail business in sales and marketing. He has over 18 years of experience in banking and insurance having previously worked for Equity bank and CIC. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the university of Nairobi and a Diploma in insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)-London. Simon is also a trained accountant

Margaret Mwashimba

Margaret Mwashimba is a Relational leader heading the Group Human Resource and Administration functions. She holds a BSC in International Business Administration with greater focus on management, and a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership. She is a qualified Human Resources Development professional with a wealth of over 15 years’ experience and professional exposure. She is committed to delivery of service excellence by ensuring all people are fully engaged, and the right people are recruited and retained for the right jobs.
